The 300 MHz iBook seems to have developed a fault. I'll sit there typing away and suddenly the screen will go black and the disk drive will stop spinning. I need a Linux machine for college, so it's fortunate that I have a desktop machine with Fedora already installed. I might have been using that already if the room we've designated the "study" (currently a room with overloaded bookshelves and a few boxes) had a grounded outlet. It's taken me a while to find a suitable adaptor that I can use with a GFCI until I get around to rewiring the house.
